Recipe: Gamjajeon (감자전)

Hello everyone, and hello February!
Woah I still can not believe how quick the first month of 2014 has gone, and I am proud to tell you that I have actually managed to do self-imposed shopping ban for a whole month OMG I will try to continue it until next month *hopefully* lol
And today I am going to share how to make Gamjajeon (감자전) to all of you~

Gamjajeon is Korean potato pancake and I heard a lot of Korean people prefer to eat this pancake in a rainy day. It is very easy to make, because you do not need a lot of ingredients, and it tastes quite good.

----------------------------

Ingredients:
- 4 Small potatoes.
- 1 Small onion.
- 1 Green chili.
- Salt.
- Oil.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small chunks.
Then add the potatoes and onion to a food processor, and blend them.

Drain the water with a strainer, gently press it down with a spoon,
and let it sit for about 5 - 10 minutes.

While you wait, slice the seeded green chili thinly.

Pour out the water in the bowl, but keep the potato starch from the bottom of the bowl.

Add the potato starch to the potato and onion mixture, don't forget to add some salt,
and mix it well with a spoon.

Heat up the pan, and add some oil.

Add some of the potato mixture to the pan, and spread it with a spoon.

Add green chili, and you can also substitute the green chili with bell pepper.

When the bottom is completely cooked, turn them over, and press them lightly with a spatula.

And you are done~~
Before I serve it on the plate, I prefer to put them on the paper towel to drain the excess oil. And I recommend you to eat them immediately while they are still hot!

Just for your information.. to make the pancakes crispier, just add more oil!
And you can also cook the both sides twice, but be careful not to burn them, okay?
And you can eat them with a Korean dipping sauce.. just mix some soy sauce, vinegar and toasted sesame seeds. But unfortunately I did not really like it, so I prefer to eat them with tomato sauce lol

So, have you ever tried Gamjajeon before??

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day ^^

See ya~
