Recipe: Steamed Soft Tofu

Hello everyone~
OMG I still can not believe it is already July! Time flies by too fast, and I will be a college student next month.. Duh I am so excited yet nervous lol. Oh well, let's get straight to the point! So, today I am going to share how to make this simple steamed soft tofu with soy sauce to all of you ^^

Well.. I absolutely love tofu because it is a versatile ingredient, and there are a number of different ways to cook tofu, for the example like this one. This inexpensive steamed tofu is super easy and quick to make (in less than 15 minutes!). And actually I love to eat this simple steamed tofu, especially when I am sick and then I lose my appetite, or when I have a sore throat~

Ingredients:
  •  1 package soft tofu (silken)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp Korean red pepper flakes (optional)

Actually you can also use firm tofu if you want, because it tastes similar.. but you will not get the smooth and silky texture of this soft (silken) tofu, which is super easy to swallow it down and very comforting.

So, put the unopened tofu package in the pot of simmering water over low heat for about 8 to 10 minutes. Umm I think this is the easiest way to 'steam' the tofu, because yeah I am just too lazy.. as usual lol.

Mix all the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Umm actually I added too much sesame seeds, but it was okay because I love them lol.
But just feel free to add more or less depending on your taste~

Cut one side on the top of the tofu package with a knife, and drain all the liquid inside, but please be careful because it will be very hot! Then open up the package, and turn the tofu on the cutting board, you gotta be careful because it is so soft and fragile!
And just cut the block of tofu into 4 slices~

Drizzle the sauce on top, and serve it while it is hot~~

It is very healthy but still delicious, and you can enjoy it as a side dish with a bowl of rice, or just eat it as a filling snack omnomnom~

So, what is your favorite way to eat tofu??

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day ^^

See ya~
