Tip: How to Wear a Wig for Long & Thick Hair

Well.. you might already know that I love to wear a wig because a wig is seriously a life saver for me on bad hair days! But unfortunately, my hair is way too thick.. and long.. and messy.. and err.. fluffy. Ugh I look like a lion! That is why I always end up with a hair bump on the back of my head whenever I wear a wig cap and it makes my wig look so weird. But fortunately I found out a great method to solve this problem and today
I want to share it to all of you ^^

So you only need a thin elastic hair band and two (or more) hair clips. And yes I do not recommend you to use bobby pins if you also have a very thick, long hair like me! >_<

First.. french braid your hair, continue braiding your hair all the way down, and tie off the ends with a thin elastic hair band. Umm if you can not do a french braid, there are a lot of Youtube videos on how to french braid your hair and I think you can learn by watching those helpful videos kkk~

Then pin up the tail of the braid on top of your head, and secure it with hair clips. One from the left side and another one from the right side to make sure it will hold very well for an entire day, and just feel free to use more hair clips if you want!

And you are done~~ It is very easy and fast to do, right? kkk
Now you are ready to put the wig on.. but please be careful when you put on your wig without a wig cap because you may mess up this hairstyle! >__<

Actually.. I usually wear a wig only for photoshoot purpose and I did not wear it for that long, so I am comfortable with this method without a wig cap. But if you are planning to wear a wig for an entire day, I think it is much better if you also wear a wig cap to protect your own hair underneath~

And as you can see from the left picture below, I only wear a wig cap as usual, but it looks bumpy under my wig and it makes my wig look weird and fake.. While in the right picture below, I use this method without a wig cap and as you can see it does not show the hair bump on the back of my head yay! ^o^

Okay that's all for today! Hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other tips to wear a wig for long and thick hair in the comment section below! ^^

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day~

See ya~

  5. Great tip! My hair is too short to french braid, but when I have longer hair this will definitely be useful for whenever I wear wigs c:
