DIY: Lemongrass Facial Steam / Sauna

Hello everyone~
Well.. are you sure that your pores are clean now? Because dirty and clogged pores cause acne on your face! For the example, like me.. I always use my BB cream to school for about 9 hours everyday, and sometimes I didn't clean my face properly, so I got some new pimples *sigh (≧д≦)

Do you have the same problem?
So, today I'll share about how to steam your face (facial sauna) at home! It's super simple, easy and cheap~ (^~^)

It cleanses your pores, hydrates your skin, replaces dead skin cells, boosts circulation. And it also promotes skin clarity, and helps to open your clogged pores to remove any dirt and excess oil.

What you'll need are :

1). 5-6 Sticks of lemongrass.
2). 1 Green tea bag.
3). Half a pot of water.
4). A clean towel.
5.) A knife.

Lemongrass is an anti-bacterial which is great for acne-prone skin, normalize overactive oil glands, and it will revitalize your skin too.

and

Green tea is full of anti-oxidants, great anti aging remedy by fight free radicals, fight inflammation, sooth your acne, and give your skin a healthy glow.

So, this facial steam is works especially for normal to oily skin types.

You can also use Rosemary, Peppermint leaves, Lavender blossoms, Chamomile flowers, etc. But they're very hard to find in Indonesia >_<

Let's get started~ ヘ(゚∀゚*)ノ

-----------------

Remove the outside of lemongrass away.

Use your knife to remove the hump.
(And repeat the same step to all your lemongrass.)

Slash the lemongrass, but don't let them separate. Got it?

Wash the lemongrass under running water.

Boil the water, then dip the tea bag, and add the lemongrass.

*sorry for bad lighting*

Let it stand for about 10 minutes, and turn off the heat.
You can also strain them, but I didn't do it.

Drape a large towel over your head and shoulders.

And steam your face for about 2 - 3 minutes, or until you can't stand the heat anymore.
Don't forget to keep your eyes closed!

After that, let it dry~~

And a great way to finish after facial steam is a toner!
Use your favorite toner, and I use Etude House Skin Mal:gem in Smoother.

Eewww~~ Can't you see the dirt that clogged my pores in the pic below? ∑(゚Д゚)

This is optional, but I just want to make sure that my pores are closed, so I rub an ice cube all over my face. (^ε^)

And you're done~! (^ε^)♪

But please don’t steam your face too much, just do it once a week.

So, have you tried a facial steam before? ^^
