DIY: Bitter Melon Facial Mist, Body Mist, Toner & Scrub for Acne-Prone Skin

Well, do you hate bitter melon (also known as bitter gourd) as much as I do? I am not sure whether this bitter fruit is available in your country or not, but this bitter melon is very known in Asia and India. Here we called it 'pare' or 'paria'. I know it has a lot of health benefits, it contains beta carotene, vitamin A, C, B1 to B3, etc. Just Google it if you want to know more information about the good benefits of bitter melon lol! But yeah I personally hate bitter melon since I was a child because of its bitterness ughh, but I realized there was another way for me to love this bitter melon!

To be honest, I have never thought to use this bitter melon as a great ingredient to my face. I read an article in the newspaper about the good benefits of drinking bitter melon juice a few weeks ago. And it is also good to heal your pimples, you know! Since my face is breaking out so bad, I decided to use the bitter melon juice for the external treatment. Yeah of course as a 'bitter melon-hater', I would never ever want to drink it la. And guess what, I found 4 different amazing ways to use a bitter melon for oily and acne-prone skin~

-----------------

Let's make a bitter melon juice!

1. Wash a bitter melon thoroughly in running water.
2. Cut off both ends, and cut in half lengthwise.
3. Scoop out the seeds with a spoon.
4. Cut the bitter melon into small chunks.

5. Put them into a blender, and pour a little bit of water.
6. Blend it for about 2 - 3 minutes.
7. Strain the juice.
8. This is optional, you can also add a few drops of tea tree oil.

Then, just pour the juice into a spray bottle. And you are done~ yay!
I recommend you to keep this mist in the refrigerator, and it will last for about 2 weeks.

But please test it on the palm of your hand first, at least for about 5 minutes to check if you have an allergy or any skin reactions (itchy & redness)! And if you do not, you can spray it on your face whenever you want, but I prefer to spray it after I wash my face in the morning and evening.

Is it just me or what.. it gives a matte finish all day long, but it looks slightly glowy at the same time, yup that kind of healthy-looking skin! No, I am not kidding. It works so amazing on me. So I always spray this mist before I put on my makeup, and it makes my makeup last longer. I also noticed it brightens my face and my pores look smaller! Oh my, I really love this mist~ kkk

Another good ways.. Body mist and Toner~

Pssst.. I want to confess to all of you. I had a lot of pimples not only on my face, but on my back and my chest as well *sigh~ I was so ashamed! So, I tried to use it as a body mist and it totally works. It helps to dry the pimples up faster! So if you have the same problem like me, but you have an extremely sensitive skin and hesitate to spray it on your face, I recommend you to spray it on your back or chest area! Usually I use this mist after shower, and wait for it to dry before I wear my clothes.
And oh, you can also use it as a toner!

-----------------

Scrub your skin!

Then what to do with the leftover juice pulp? No, no, do not throw it away! Since the texture is not too harsh, you can use it as a facial scrub.

1. Put 1 tbsp of the leftover juice pulp into a mixing bowl.
2. Add 1 tbsp of honey, and mix it well.

Just apply it on your clean face, rub in circular motions, leave it on for about 15 minutes, and rinse off with cool water. Oh, you can also use it as a body scrub~

I highly recommend you to try it, it is affordable, easy to do, and it works very well on me. Please let me know if you try it and how it works on you! ^^
Err.. I think you are bored to see my bare face with those pimples everywhere, right? >_<

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day, girls ^^

See ya~
