Review: Sweet Pea Homemade Dry Shampoo

Hello everyone!
Finally I am back with a new review to all of you, because I got a day off today yay! Well.. I have spent half my day doing a K-drama marathon LOL, and also I was super busy selling coffee for my college selling-project ugh! So yeah, today I am going to share about this Sweet Pea homemade dry shampoo in powder form that I received a few weeks ago.

So, this new product is a homemade dry shampoo and it is made from natural ingredients. It comes in a powder form, because they claimed that the powder form is much easier to use, and helps to control the amount of the product to avoid excessive use on your hair.

As you can see, it comes in a simple aluminium jar with a tutu lace in the middle, and it contains 60gr of the product inside. Pink is the most dominant color, which makes it look super cute and girly~ Oh! Psst.. just for your information, they have updated the packaging of this dry shampoo.. and trust me, their new packaging is so much cuter than this one!

This dry shampoo is available in 5 different variants :

Fresh Orange, Romantic Rose, Sweet Lavender, Chocolate, and Cooling Mint.

I chose the Romantic Rose one, because I am currently obsessed with anything related to roses LOL. And they also claimed that rose oil has a lot of good benefits for our hair, it contains vitamins C and E which helps to get rid of dandruff and moisturizes dry hair.

The texture of this dry shampoo is exactly the same as a loose powder, it is powdery.. but slightly gritty. And it has a very subtle rose scent, that is why you can not really smell it - unless you smell it directly from the jar. I think it would be better if the scent is a little more noticeable, because I honestly did not smell anything once I apply this dry shampoo on my hair ugh.

Actually the application of this dry shampoo is not very practical and not travel-friendly, because you will need an unused powder brush to apply this dry shampoo on your hair or you can also use your clean fingers instead, but this way may get a little messy.

How to use :
  • Apply a small amount of the dry shampoo on your unused powder brush, and tap off the excess powder to avoid applying too much product.
  • Distribute the powder evenly on your roots and the areas that tend to get oily.
  • Gently rub and massage into your scalp by using your fingertips.
  • Brush your hair afterwards, and brush the excess powder out of your hair.

You have to wait a few minutes for the dry shampoo to absorb the oil from your hair. And as you can see, my limp hair looks more volume and less oily, but please note that it does not help to relieve the itchiness on my scalp. And unfortunately the staying power of this dry shampoo is not that great, only for about 4 - 5 hours duh.

I usually wash my hair every 2 days. Umm actually my scalp gets oily, itchy and become limp fast, especially in this hot and humid weather lately. So, I prefer to use this dry shampoo on the second day to give my hair more volume and hide the greasiness, but I do not recommend you to use this dry shampoo too often - at least only once or twice a week la.

Actually this dry shampoo is not bad, considering the price of this product is very affordable compared to other dry shampoos from different brands, since this is a homemade product afterall. And this is perfect if you have a bad hair day, or when you are in urgent, or when you are too busy and do not have time to wash or style your hair.

And if you are interested to try this dry shampoo, do not forget to use my discount code 'ENDORSEBYADE' to get IDR 5.000 off! The original price is IDR 55.000, so it means..
you only have to pay IDR 50.000! Yay!!
